If you're a bird, I'm a bird. 🥹❤️

As a photographer who absolutely LOVES a good theme, a costume, and a fun idea, this Notebook-inspired engagement session is easily one of my favorite photo shoots I've ever done.

Inspired by one of the most romantic movies of all time, this couple brought the love story to life right here on their own beautiful Alabama property.

And this session was extra special for me because I've actually photographed this family before. Many years ago, I photographed their daughter's mother's wedding, and now I had the opportunity to return to their property and photograph this incredible couple's engagement session.

Talk about coming full circle! ❤️

We had everything you could possibly want for a romantic engagement session—beautiful water, a boat, flowers, parasailing, and plenty of opportunities to channel our inner Noah and Allie.

And then came the rain.

Well… sort of. 😂

We may have cheated a little and created our own rain using a garden hose in the backyard!

Because sometimes the perfect photograph requires a little creativity, a little imagination, and maybe a hose.

That's what I love about themed sessions. We aren't just taking pictures. We're creating a story.

This couple trusted me to take their engagement session somewhere completely different, and together we created something romantic, playful, and completely unforgettable.

And honestly?

I'd do it all over again.
