Bushwacker’s on the Bay: A Perfect Perdido Key Sunset Spot for the Whole Family
If you’re looking for a place in Perdido Key where you can grab some great food, listen to good music, watch an absolutely gorgeous Gulf Coast sunset, and let the kids have a little fun in the sand, Bushwacker’s is one of those places you need to put on your list.
Located right at the base of the bridge in Perdido Key, Bushwacker’s is more than just a restaurant. It’s one of those laid-back Gulf Coast spots where you can slow down, enjoy the view, and spend an entire evening outside with your family and friends.
🌴 Come by Car—or Arrive by Boat
One of my favorite things about Bushwacker’s is that you don’t have to experience it the same way every time.
You can drive right in and enjoy the restaurant, or if you’re out enjoying a day on the water, you can arrive by boat.
And honestly, arriving by boat gives you a completely different perspective.
I recently spent the day out on the water with friends and captured some photos of Bushwacker’s from the boat. Seeing the restaurant, bridge, shoreline, and surrounding Perdido Key scenery from the water really shows just how beautiful this little corner of the Gulf Coast is.
🌅 Come for the Sunset
Let's be honest—the sunset is one of the biggest reasons to hang around.
There’s something special about watching the sky change colors while you're sitting outside with a good meal, music playing, and the water right there beside you.
And because so much of the experience is outdoors, you aren't stuck inside staring at four walls while the kids are asking, “Can we go yet?”
They can get outside, play in the sand, explore, and enjoy being kids while you sit back and take in the view.
That’s what I love about Gulf Coast restaurants like this. Dinner doesn’t have to be a formal event. Sometimes the best evenings are the ones where everybody can relax, get a little sandy, listen to some music, eat something delicious, and watch the sun disappear over the water.
🎶 Good Food, Good Music & Good Vibes
Bushwacker’s has that casual, laid-back atmosphere that makes the Gulf Coast so much fun.
Grab something good to eat, listen to live music, hang out with your family or friends, and enjoy the fact that you’re actually outside enjoying Perdido Key.
It’s the kind of place that works for a family dinner, an evening with friends, or a casual stop during a day spent out on the water.
And if you're visiting Perdido Key on vacation, this is exactly the kind of local experience that I think people should seek out.
You don't always need an elaborate dinner reservation or a fancy night out.
Sometimes you just need a beautiful sunset, good food, music, and somewhere the kids can burn off some energy.
🏖️ A Family-Friendly Gulf Coast Evening
As a photographer, I’m always looking for those little moments that make a place feel special.
And this is one of them.
Perdido Key is beautiful, but there’s something different about experiencing it somewhere that lets you actually enjoy the outdoors.
The kids can play in the sand.
The adults can relax.
The music is playing.
The food is coming out.
The sun is setting.
And everybody gets to enjoy a little piece of the Gulf Coast together.
That's the kind of evening that makes vacation memories.
📸 Why I Brought My Camera
Of course, I couldn't spend the day on a boat surrounded by all this scenery without taking pictures!
The photos I'm sharing with this blog were captured with my phone just enjoying a boat day with my friends.
And that's one of the things I love about photographing the Gulf Coast—sometimes you just have to change your perspective.
The same restaurant you've driven past a hundred times can look completely different when you're floating by on a boat with the sun going down behind it.
🌅 Add Bushwacker’s to Your Perdido Key List
Whether you're staying in Perdido Key for a vacation, looking for somewhere casual to take the family, spending the afternoon on the water, or simply searching for a beautiful place to watch the sunset, Bushwacker’s is worth checking out.
Drive there.
Boat there.
Bring the family.
Bring your friends.
Grab some food, listen to some music, let the kids play in the sand, and stay long enough to watch the sunset.
Because that's what the Gulf Coast is all about.
Good food. Good music. Good people. Beautiful water. And sunsets you won't forget. 🌅
